I took some photos of that fantastic square when visiting Brussels in August this year. The architecture is stunning! Grand Place has roots back to the early 1000’s, but I think most buildings surrounding it was built in the 1700’s.
The opposite to these structures would probably be 60 years old soviet blocks or modern day Lennar homes in Florida. I like the old ones better, but sadly, money is a lot better in simpler things.
Just that thought hit me today. I tend to let money be the guide, but money does not create beautiful houses and interesting neighborhoods. Passion for those things does. But if you let that passion rule, you won’t make any money, and then you can’t build anything.
Is there a holy ground somewhere in between?
